Seven athletes, once coach and a longtime fan and helper will be inducted into the Sartell Athletic Hall of Fame Friday, Sept. 18 at Mulligan�s Event Center in Sartell.

The event will start with a pep rally at 2:30 p.m. at Sartell High School. At 4 p.m. there will be a social hour, snacks, banquet and recognition ceremony at Mulligan�s. Participants will then go to Champion Field for a football game (Sartell Sabres vs. Fergus Falls). After the game, at about 9 p.m., people will return to Mulligan�s for socializing and music from a live band. The general public is welcome to attend the 9 p.m. dance and social. Tickets may be purchased through the School District Activities Office. For more information, call 656-3717.

The Hall of Fame induction is a project of the Sartell Booster Club, which raises money for incidental needs for the school�s athletic activities, such as for uniforms a pitching machine, the chartering of buses and much more.

This year�s athlete honorees, all of them graduates of Sartell High School, are April Bielejeski, Bob Dehnke, Tom Gaughan, Christy Molitor, Steve Scarince, Theresa Stang and Steve Taylor. The coach is Roger Trobec, and the special award will go to Karen Fladung.

Here are some details about the Hall of Fame inductees:



Bielejeski

1999 graduate, involved in cross-country, basketball, soccer and track.

She lives in St. Cloud and is an engineer for the VA Medical Center.

Dehnke

1975 graduate, active in football, basketball, cross country, golf and track.

He lives in St. Paul and works at the operation�s center for Questar Assessment Inc., a center in Apple Valley that scores student tests.

Gaughan

1979 graduate, active in football, baseball and basketball.

He lives in Sartell and works at the Verso Paper Co.

Molitor

1994 graduate, active in volleyball, basketball and track.

She lives in New York State and is a doctor.

Scarince

1986 graduate, active in cross-country and track.

He lives in Alta Dena, Calif. and works for the U.S. Secret Service.

Stang

1979 graduate, active in swimming, gymnastics and track.

No further biographical information available.

Taylor

1986 graduate, active in football, basketball and baseball.

He lives in St. Cloud and has played for the Minnesota Twins organization.

(Taylor�s father, Dean, a longtime coach, was honored as a Hall of Fame inductee in 1999.)

Trobec

A coach and teacher for 32 years in the Sartell-St. Stephen School District, Trobec has been involved in football, wrestling and track. He lives in his hometown of St. Stephen.

Fladung

She will receive the Hall of Fame Special Services Award for nearly 30 years of assistance to the school district�s athletic programs, primarily as a seamstress and repairer of uniforms.

Past winners of the Hall of Fame honors are (1999) Sarah Kruger, Craig Sauer, Coach Dean Taylor, Missy Trenz and John Wiehoff; and (2004) Marie Berry, Linda Blackmore, Vince Hull, Jim Lynburn and Wade Wrightson.
